Latimers Landing is on the East Bank of the Buffalo River (East London Harbour). Latimers Landing looks across the harbour toward the Buffalo River Yacht Club. There are roughly 30 yachts moored in front of Latimers Landing. |
East London Yacht Club (ELYC) is a long established yacht club situated on the south-eastern seaboard of the South African coast. Sited literally on top of the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, it offers some of the best coastal sailing to be found worldwide.
The club has the reputation of being one of the friendliest yacht clubs in the country and has successfully and efficiently hosted many large National Championships over the last 30 years. The Fireball, Hobie, Laser and Dart Classes have all hosted their National and World Championships at the club on a number of occasions. The fantastic sailing conditions and the camaraderie to be experienced ashore have ensured that all classes have subsequently raved about these events.
