Saturday saw much work being done by owners to get their yachts in ship-shape order. By Sunday morning everyone was ready with skippers and crew excited and eager to set sail.
Colleen and Elanor prepared a wonderful breakfast, big thanks to Pete for slaving over the stove, which filled the tummies of the crews and supportors. Even though there was a short delay caused by an issue with electricity, everyone had eaten and was ready for the Skippers Briefing. Deon, Stuart and Colin held the briefing and explained the starting order and course.
The starting order was arranged according to the various handicaps and agreed by everyone promptly. The first yacht left at 10h15 with the last leaving nearly 30 minutes later. Colin stood at the starting line where the Daimler Ferries come along aside. Even with his hoarse voice was eagerly attempting to shout encouragement and advice.

Buffalo River Revival Race
This weekend the Buffalo River Yacht Club is hosting our first offical race of the 2011 Season. Most people are now back from their travels and available again to race. The weather is expected to be perfect for sailing with nice warm weather and a South Westerly in the morning turning to an Easterly, unfortunately the wind isn't expected to pick up to more than 15 knots. Nonetheless, we're expecting a weekend of sun, sea, sailing and satisfaction!

Thank you to everyone who attended on Wednesday evening. It was a great success as usual. The Lasagne was fantasic and the ladies who organised it did a brilliant job and a special thanks to Yvonne De Wet who made a delicous apple crumble served with Ice cream to follow. Thanks to everyone and to Ian Williams especially for taking the photos. Hope to see more people next Wednesday.
